An officer based at RAF Coningsby has proved she's an ace on the ice. Flt Lt Heather Ratnage-Black was runner-up in the women's skeleton competition in the 'Ice Champs' held in the magnificent setting of the Austrian Tyrol.
Her success meant that Flt Lt Ratnage-Black, who coaches the RAF Skeleton Association, helped the women's skeleton team take pole position ahead of the other services at the competition, the 2008 Bobsleigh, Luge and Skeleton Inter-Service Championships. "There is no safety net here," she said. "If you screw things up in a bend it's going to hurt!"
