The after lunch speaker at the April meeting of Horncastle Ladies Probus was Penny Holland, a member of the Horncastle Theatre Players.
Penny told how the players came about in 1988 with lots of help and sponsorship.
The group has enjoyed success with a number of its productions, including pantomimes.
With the theatre in the grounds of the Red Lion pub, things became very difficult when the pub closed and certain services were turned off.
Thankfully, a new owner was found for the pub, which has now been renovated, so the players can now look forward to new productions.
At the next meeting, on Tuesday May 30, Neil Watson will give a talk on the History of the Fairground.
