Could this latest Cayenne be the ultimate high-performance SUV?

Would you pay £100,000 for an SUV? Bentley’s Bentayga has proved that price is no barrier to buyers if the product is good enough – and now here is the latest Porsche Cayenne Turbo attempting to reconfirm that principle at a whisker under £100,000.

Built on a shortened version of the Bentayga/Audi Q7 platform, and priced smack in between those two, the third-generation Cayenne Turbo has 542bhp and a sportier driving ethos. Well, as sporting as anything weighing nearly 2.2 tonnes can be, anyway.

Porsche Cayenne Turbo

It’s packed with advanced tech designed to keep all that power under control and to deliver an enhanced driving experience. According to our video of the Porsche spearing through the Scottish Borders, it all works: the speed is truly impressive, irrespective of whether it’s on straights or bends. Grip is bonkers for a car of this size, or any size really.

But the Cayenne Turbo does have a guilty secret. Check out the video to discover what it is.
