A WELCOME home party for a Woodhall Spa woman who has been appointed District Governor of Lions District 105e has been held at Macauley's restaurant.
Margaret Erentraut spent two weeks at a Lions International Convention held in Minneapolis, USA, accompanied by her husband Stefan.
The visit began with Margaret representing the UK and Ireland in an international parade which included 4,500 clubs from 205 countries worldwide before she took part in training seminars for her new role.
During the party, hosted by Woodhall Spa Lions Club, Margaret was welcomed back to the UK by fellow Lions and received a Badge of Office from her predecessor Derek Blow of Louth in a handover ceremony.
In her acceptance speech, Margaret praised the work of Derek and his wife Aileen, over the past year and described taking part in the International Convention as an experience of a lifetime.
For her first official engagement as district governor, Margaret attended the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics in Leicester.
A presentation of £6,500 was also made to the Parkinson's Disease Society.
The society was Mrs Blow's chosen charity of the year, made in her capacity of district governor's wife for 2008-9.
Lions District 105e covers clubs in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.
