AN OPEN public meeting takes place tonight (Wednesday) to discuss the cuts in hours at Woodhall Spa library.

It starts at 7.30pm in St Hugh's school hall and will give people a chance to hear why Lincolnshire County Council is cutting the library's opening hours by a third.

Coun David Clarke, vice-chairman of Woodhall Spa Parish Council, said the parish council would be putting across its arguments for keeping the library open longer to the county council.

He said representatives from the county, including Coun Edward Poll, portfolio holder for libraries, will attend to explain why the hours are being cut.

Coun Clarke said the floor would then be open to the public and they would have their chance to show the depth of support there is for keeping the library open longer.
