14/05/08 - Street pastors reduce crime
AT a branch meeting of Woodhall Spa Mothers' Union Joy Liddle spoke about Street Pastors, an organisation set up in 2003 to help combat street crime.
Joy told the meeting that there are currently 38 Street Pastors in Lincoln from 14 churches.
In recent months the crime rate has gone down by seven and a half percent and there is less trouble on the street.
Future Mothers' Union events include two branch meetings on May 27 and June 24 and a coach trip to Lincoln Cathedral Triennial Service on July 5, which will leave Woodhall at 10.15am.
