Horncastle could again feature in the 2014 SO Festival.

Members of Horncastle’s festival committee have held talks with organisers of the district wide festival about staging an event.

Last year, Horncastle enjoyed a prominent role, hosting a state of the art lighting display that attracted more than 3,000 visitors.

Images featuring famous figures from Horncastle’s history - including botanist Sir Joseph Banks - were projected onto buildings.

There was also live music and street entertainers.

Coun Fiona Martin, a member of the Horncastle festival committee, explained: “We have met the new director of the So Festival and indicated we would be more than happy to host an event this year.”

This year’s festival will take place between Saturday June 28 and Sunday July 6 .

A programme of events - and locations - is still being finalised. The 2013 Festival also visited Wragby and Woodhall Spa.
