Pupils in Horncastle were given a taste of opera last week, thanks to one of the acts in this year’s So Festival.
Garsington Opera hosted workshops at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School as part of its Opera for All touring programme, which aims to make the art form accessible to rural coastal communities and to support local cultural engagement.
“The time just whizzed by and everyone had a real sense of achievement at the end – it was amazing” said Mrs Addis, head of arts faculty and subject leader for music.
Following the workshops, children from QEGS will perform as part of the free screening of Garsington Opera’s production of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin at 12.30pm this Saturday in a special garden party at SO Festival in Skegness.
All events at SO Festival are free. Visit www.sofestival.org for more information.
