Hundreds of people are expected to descend on the village of Goulceby on Sunday to attend the village’s first gala for many years.
It will be held in the grounds of the Three Horseshoes pub from 1pm-6pm.
District councillor Sandra Campbell-Wardman is a member of the organising team and is hoping the event will be well supported.
She said: “A lot of work has gone into this and we’re grateful to so many people who have helped.
“It is a great opportunity to put Goulceby on the map.
“I know there hasn’t been a gala in Goulecby for years.
“Hopefully, we can promote our village and really bring the community together.”
Horncastle’s very own Elliott Morris will headline an impressive array of live musical entertainment.
Other performers include the always popular Whiskey Before Breakfast, Steve B, and Billy J.
Billed as a fun afternoon for the whole family, there will also be children’s rides, a bouncy castle, ice cream, a barbecue and additional music from Illusion Disco.
Another highlight promises to be a tug-of-war competition with many villagers taking part.
There will also be a host of stalls and other attractions.
Coun Campbell Wardman said: “We’ve tried to create a traditional village gala. Now, all we’re hoping for is fine weather.”
Proceeds from the event will go to Horncastle based LIVES and to the Gala committee to help organise future events.
