Horncastle is to be the setting for a one off rock concert which has been organised to help raise funds for a local church.
The Aspire gig is to be held at Stanhope Hall on Saturday, October 4 from 6.15pm and it is hoped that it will raise as much as £5,000 to go towards the restoration and maintenance of St Margaret’s Church, Thimbleby, which needs a new spire and lots of other work on the fabric of the building such as rewiring, new windows, and a new roof.
Popular Lincolnshire based rock, indie, ska, soul and blues bands Stark, Prophecy, No Relevance, The Detail and Starvin’ Sid are performing for free at the venue at Stanhope Hall on Boston Road.
Carolyn Paige, who is the events organiser, said: “All of the bands are brilliant and all have great followings. It’s going to be an amazing night.”
Tickets (over 18 only) cost £15 and are available from the Horncastle Music Shop, Bull Ring, Horncastle, and the Durham Ox Pub in Thimbleby and from Carolyn direct by phone on 07500 663316, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org There will be a licensed bar.
