Families in Lincolnshire are being encouraged to wrap up warm, and explore the outdoors with the National Trust this February Half Term.

Many local Trust places are offering family fun days and half term trails around spectacular parks and gardens.

Tattershall Castle will be open from Sunday February 16 and it’s a special year for the Castle as it celebrates 100 years since it was restored from ruin and opened to the public as a visitor attraction.

Visitors can immerse themselves in a photo exhibition showing its transformation and reflect on the stark beauty of an empty castle against the bare trees and subdued colours of winter

At Gunby Hall and Gardens, visit on Wednesday February 19 for Snowdrop Day, a series of guided walks and find the best snowdrops in undiscovered parts of
the Gunby gardens. Walks
will start every hour on the hour. The tea-room will serve mugs of soup and the hall
will be open from 11am until 5pm.

At Belton House, before the house opens on March 8, visitors are invited to borrow a Polaroid camera from the Plant and Garden shop and share their special places on the display board, Saturdays and Sundays in February, until February 23, 10.30am – 4pm.

In addition, follow the ‘Wonder as you Wander Family Trail’ in the gardens and parkland. £1.50 per trail with a prize for junior participants, daily from 10.30am – 4pm.
