Christmas will arrive at St Mary’s Church in Horncastle this weekend.

The church welcomes back its ever popular Christmas Tree Festival on Saturday and Sunday (November 29 and 30).

The glittering event, organised by the Friends of St Mary’s, will be a display of

Christmas trees decorated by Horncastle businesses, groups and schools.

The doors will open at 10am on Saturday and 12pm on Sunday, after the ‘All Age

Worship Service’.

A spokesman said: “The trees are always a delight to see and hopefully people will come along because so much hard work goes into decorating them.”

Entry is free but for anyone who cannot wait to see the spectacle, there is a cheese and wine preview evening on Friday at 7pm.

Guests will be entertained by popular duo Chris and Gail Hinkins.

Tickets for the wine and cheese evening are £5 and can be obtained by telephoning 01507 524430 or 01507 525600.

Sunday’s Tree Festival at the church coincides with the Horncastle Christmas Festival and will conclude with “Songs of Christmas” at St Mary’s at 3.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
