After a recent dip in numbers attending Horncastle’s Community Cinema, one resident has urged people of the town to make use of the service.
Keith Baguley wrote to the News to say that there is currently a deficit in the running costs of the cinema at the Stanhope Hall which could force the cinema to stop showing films.
Mr Baguley said: “The Horncastle Town Plan, five years ago in the public consultation, asked members of the public for their requirements for Horncastle.
“There was considerable interest in Horncastle at the time for providing a Community Cinema.
“After many years without a cinema, the Stanhope Hall Group started a Community Cinema some 18 months ago and regular, up-to-date films have been shown on a monthly basis.
“I would appeal to the Horncastle public to support the cinema in future.”
The next showing will be Wednesday February 12 at 7.30pm and Oscar-nominated Captain Phillips, starring Tom Hanks, will be shown.
Tickets are £3 from Houldens of £3.50 on the night.
