The Boston Sinfonia will continue it’s season of concerts with a welcome return to The Guildhall, Boston to perform a delightful afternoon of popular classics on Sunday November 30.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart provides the music for the whole of the first half commencing with the Divertimento in D K136.
Written in 1772 when Mozart was sixteen, the ‘Divertimenti’ were pieces performed informally in a garden in the summer or in a banquet hall in autumn or winter.
After the interval, Boston Sinfonia will perform Haydn’s Symphony No 45 ‘Farewell’. The work was written for Haydn’s patron, Prince Nikolaus Esterházy.
Tickets (£10) are available from: Harmony Music, 17 West Street (01205 355366) or the website http://www.bostonsinfonia.org.uk/ via PayPal and £12 on the door. Under 18s will be admitted free of charge.
