It has been a story of stormy seas for staff and management at Jubilee Park, Woodhall Spa, during the winter months.
However, they’re hoping for calmer waters tomorrow (Saturday) when the park’s outdoor swimming pool re-opens for the new season.
The pool is one of the park’s top attractions and enjoyed a record year in 2013 in terms of income and the number of users.
Now, staff are hoping for a bumper summer with a newly formed company set to take control of the park’s affairs.
The pool opens to the public in the morning and will be followed by the first in a series of midnight swims, starting at 11pm.
A spokesman for the park said: “We had an absolutely fantastic year with the pool last year and we’re looking to build on that.
“It has always been popular but we broke a number of records last year and it was great to see so many people using it.
“I don’t think there was any one particular reason why we did so well. It was just more people seemed to be aware the pool is here - and open in all weathers.”
The midnight swims were particularly successful in 2013 and staff are urging people to buy tickets ahead of tomorrow’s event.
A programme of maintenance has gone on throughout the winter, although there are no major additions to the pool’s facilities.
The spokesman added: “It is full and the water is heated to the appropriate temperature.
The first people to test the water were the pool’s lifeguards who took part in a training day last Saturday.
