Woodhall’s mixed side are confident of securing a top-five finish

WOODHALL Spa Tennis Club’s mixed team is confident of a top five league finish after completing their season in impressive style.

They won their last three matches but must wait for other clubs to complete their programmes before the table is finalised.

Woodhall had a great 6-3 win against Boston 1 with Lydia Walker and Ant Hawkins, Daniel Freeman and Sue Leggate and Jenny Caswell and Barry Craigs all playing well.

Boston 2 received the same treatment with Woodhall winning by the
same score.

On this occasion, the team members were Lydia Walker and Dan Freeman, David and Sue Leggate and David Little and Jenny Caswell.

Last but not least, Woodhall played against local rivals Horncastle 2 and were emphatic 8-1 winners.

Team members were Ant Hawkins and Sue Leggate, Daniel Freeman and Lydia Walker and Penny and Louis McQuade.

In all, the mixed team won seven league matches and lost just three. They are currently in joint first position but
a top five place would be a terrific
result.

Meanwhile, the club will be holding it’s popular annual Open mixed tournament on Sunday September 2, starting at 10.30am.

Entries should be sent to John Sabberton (telephone: 01526 353123) no later than Saturday, September 1.

The entry fee is £10 per couple. All day barbecue and drinks will be available.
