TENNIS: Woodhall Spa bounce back to winning ways

Members of Woodhall Spa Tennis Club have been busy playing in the Boston Winter league.

A Sunday morning competition, matches involve two couples from each club - male, female, mixed or juniors in any combination - playing two sets of tennis against each opposing couple with a tie-break at six games all. If there is a draw at one set each, the result is decided on countback.

Woodhall started their campaign well with two home wins against Billinghay (3 -1) and Horncastle (4-0). In the third match, they lost 4-0 to Boston C who won the league last year,

However, they bounced back with a 2.5-1.5 win against Boston A and followed that with a 3-1 success against Boston F.

Players who have represented Woodhall Spa to date are Ant Hawkins, Barrie Craigs, Alex Coupland, David Little, Sam Hough, Sam Parker, Paul Davis, Jordyn Tyrrell and Keith Hillsmith. Matches have now finished for the Christmas break but resume in the New Year.
