However, this week Woodhall Spa came up against a very strong team, taking on Boston firsts who won convincingly, 7-2. Partnerships on this occasion were Sue Leggate and Ant Hawkins, Alison Lauder and Ryan Lawton, and Wendy Baxter and Paul Dudgeon.

The ladies’ first team, having won their first two matches of the season, played against Tennis Buddies on Wimbledon Men’s Final Day.

Several of the team’s experienced players were unavailable and so the junior girls stepped up to the mark and played in this match. They played well and learnt a lot from the experience which will stand them in good stead for the future.

Woodhall’s team were Sue Leggate and Alison Lauder, Bridgett Scott and Lauren Lee, and Izzy Storey and Ella Barr. Tennis Buddies came out on top, winning 7-2.
