Sue and Helen won two of their matches convincingly and were gifted the third due to one of the Louth players retiring due to injury. Alison and Jenny narrowly lost to Louth’s first couple on a deciding tie-break and then won their other two matches, including winning against the 2nd couple on another deciding tie-break). The two Wendys lost against the first and second couples but beat the third couple, and followed Alison and Jenny’s example by doing so on a deciding tie-break.

A date for the diary is the weekend of May 28/29 when Beer Festival in the Park two-day event with live music takes place, organised and run as a joint venture by the cricket and tennis clubs. All events can be found at www.woodhallspatennisclub.co.uk
