After the first few centre passes, Acorn Aces’ GD intercepted a ball going to Woodhall’s GA and with good communication down court, the GA was quickly able to convert the attempted shot to a turnover goal. By the end of the first quarter, Acorn Aces were ahead 10-4.

The start of the second quarter saw Woodhall with a change in their defence which put huge pressure on the Acorn shooters.

Intercepting some loose balls and careless passing, Woodhall fought back which helped the GS’s confidence and her shooting became consistent.

In the third quarter, both teams were converting goals to their own centre pass, and with only four goals in it and the score standing at 15-11 to Acorn, Woodhall pushed but errors were made. Woodhall’s GK took a throw in pass but made line contact which enabled the Acorns to take advantage and allow the GS to score a goal.

The fourth quarter showed both teams go for every ball, but the end score was 29-25 to Acorn Aces.

Players’ player was Bryony Park for Woodhall Spartans and Nicole Newton for the Acorn Aces.
