The weather, having caused problems in recent years, behaved well and contributed towards making it a memorable and enjoyable event for everyone involved.

Lady captain, Maureen Gay put together a friendly Stableford competition on the Bracken course, with three holes re-organised to give it a somewhat different composition.

All the ladies who competed – an impressive 65 in all, including three guests – were treated by Maureen to Pimms and cakes at the halfway house, which were very much appreciated and enjoyed.

Prize giving took place in the early evening, following a tasty afternoon tea. Maureen, surrounded by an impressive display of congratulation cards and flowers from her fellow members, presented a variety of orchids to the prize winners.

Lady vice-captain Jo Burden thanked Maureen on behalf of all the members present for organising such an enjoyable event and wished her the very best for her remaining time as lady captain.
