Coupland tied fifth

Fellow Boston golfers Billy Spooner and Jordan Wrisdale were also in action on the EuroPro Tour event, with Spooner finishing tied in 29th and Wrisdale missing the cut.

“I went for an aggresive approach to win, but it didn’t quite happen,” wrote Coupland on Twitter.

“A good week.”

Indeed, Coupland finished on -6 following the three rounds, enough to see him leave with a cheque for £1,516.67.

He began in great form, carding 68 on the par 72 course on Thursday, before following that up with Friday’s 69.

He concluded with a round of 73 on Saturday.

Spooner - who, like Coupland, is attached to Woodhall Spa Golf Club - carded rounds of 69, 74 and 72 to earn £385.56.

Boston Golf Club’s Wrisdale, meanwhile, didn’t compete in the final day’s action after rounds of 76 and 71.
