ATHLETICS: Wragby father and son start season at Loughborough
Wragby father and son athletes Jim and Kieran Gillespie competed at Loughborough in their summer season opener on Sunday.
Kieran started his season well with a personal best in the discus, throwing 24.99m to place second. And Jim did not let the side down, triumphing in the discus with 26.36m and the shot with 8.8m.
Jim said: “All in all a good day. But I can just tell with Kieran, when he gets ‘competition fit’, he’s really going to be flying. So there is plenty to look forward too. Bring it on.”
