Organisers of one of the region’s most popular running events are hoping for a big turn-out as they bid to raise funds for LIVES.

The ‘Tennyson 8’ will take place in Hagworthingham on Sunday September 21 (10am).

It’s an eight-mile multi-terrain run through some of the most scenic countryside in the Wolds. The start and finish is the George and Dragon public house in Hagworthingham.

The event is open to anyone aged 16 and over but the route is not suitable for wheelchairs, buggies or prams.

Joint organiser Paul Jackson said he was hopeful more than 150 competitors would take part.

He added: “It’s our fourth year. We started with 60 people and last year we had 120.

“It would be great to top that. LIVES do a brilliant job and we want to raise as much money as possible.”

There are prizes for winners of the various categories.

The entry fee is £11 for affiliated runners (£13 non affiliated) and completed entry forms should be sent to 24 Accommodation Road, Horncastle. Limited entries will be allowed on the day (£2 extra).
