It was another busy week at Horncastle Club with the first Ladies Day on Friday and the Great British Tennis Weekend.
More than 20 ladies from all over the county enjoyed our facilities and the sunshine on Friday.
Helen Brass was the overall winner with Sue Bowser runner up. The proceeds from the raffle were donated to Multiple Sclerosis. The event was ably arranged and run by Mireya MacRury and Julie Hillsmith.
On Saturday more than 65 people took part in Great British Tennis Weekend enjoying cardio tennis, mini and junior coaching, family time and adult coaching.
The U8 team played Tealby in the Aegon League. Players were Max Wilson, Redford Bramley, Rowan Bramley and Turner Kingswood. Tealby proved to be the stronger side this week and won 10-6.
The ladies 2nd team travelled to Spalding for their first match of the season. Representing their club this week were Sally Speed and Karen Stott, Yvonne Thomas and Edwina Jackson and Di Jones and Cynthia Goodacre. Sally and Karen won 2 out of 3 rubbers as did Yvonne and Edwina. Di and Cynthia won one so a 5-4 win for Horncastle.
The Men’s Aegon team travelled to David Lloyd Burton Waters in Lincoln. Karl Sutton and Matt Dalton both won their singles but Rob Price and Ben Martin lost theirs and the doubles rubbers were lost too so 4-2 to Burton Waters.
