All the matches proved to be very close with all four players winning a singles match each and only losing out in other matches by one or two points. Max and Hannah also won their doubles. Final score 12-6 to Grantham.

As Max has reached a Red1 LTA rating he is also eligible to play an age group above and so also competed in the U9 category where he won both his singles matches and also his doubles with Redford Bramley.

Redford won one of his singles matches in three sets and only narrowly lost the second match after fighting back well in the second set. Final score 4-1 to Horncastle.

The U12 players, Ross Armstrong and Joe Sheldon, both won one singles each but lost out to a strong Grantham player in the other rubber. The deciding doubles proved to be a nail biting affair with Ross and Joe leading 3-2 and having chances to take the match. However Grantham fought back and Ross and Joe eventually lost 5-3. Overall 3-2 to Grantham.

The Ladies 3rd Vets team also played away at Boston on Saturday afternoon. Jayne Dyas, Sue Troman, Yvonne Thomas and Jo Wilderspin were representing Horncastle. The match was played indoors due to the rain and unfortunately Boston proved too strong this week.

The second Ladies Vets team travelled to Grantham on Sunday but again the opposition was too strong. Sally Speed and Karen Stott managed to win one set, but that all. Other team members were Di Jones and Julie Hillsmith.
