Members of Belchford-based Wolds Table Tennis Club presented a cheque for £1,330.10 to Carol Lethbridge of the National Association of Chrohns and Colitis (Lincolnshire branch).

The money was raised at a 24-hour sponsored table tennis marathon last October.

Several members have relatives and friends who suffer from the debilitating diseases.

Eight members played for the entire 24 hours while others ‘dropped in’.

Club treasurer Nigel Devereux said: “It was a wonderful event – very tiring and demanding but extremely worthwhile.

“We are delighted to have raised such a fantastic amount for the charity.”

The club has evening sessions on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, plus a fortnightly Sunday morning session.

Membership is almost full. Information from 01507 527876; email: nige.devereux@btopenworld.com; or visitwww.woldstabletennis.web.coms
