Pupils from St Hugh’s School in Woodhall Spa travelled to Crawley on Friday for the IAPS National Swimming Finals; the highest standard of competitive swimming.
From the regional round, held at Stamford last term, the boys were invited to swim in the U11 8x25m Freestyle relay as they had qualified in the top 8 in the country.
The relay team consisted of four Year 6 boys; William South, Jenson Faiburn-Wright, Henry Callun, and Archie Davies, and four Year 5 boys; Henry Hargreaves, Quin Saggiorato, Brayden Williams, and George Addison.
The boy’s finished third, with a podium position and an incredible 14 second PB from their qualifying time.
Swimming teacher Miss Beebe said: “It was a real pleasure to see the boys excitement for each other; they thoroughly deserved their medal position.
“I am super proud of the boys, and absolutely loved watching them compete at such a high standard. Well done all of you, definitely a day to remember.”
