Tattershall racer Aaron Silvester attended the NGRR presentation evening where he was presented with his trophy for winning the 2015 Minitwin Championship.
Although he knew he was to receive his trophy, Aaron was surprised to discover he had also won the Hambro Flying Start award for the most promising rider of 2015.
Aaron said: “My family had managed to keep the news that I had won the award from me. I was overwhelmed to receive such a prestigious award, dating back to the 1970s.
“It was great to catch up with fellow racers, talk about their future plans and be with the NG Road Racing Club for the final time in 2015. We all look forward to the 2016 season now with full focus and we are still looking for keen enthusiasts to get involved with us at Stralia Race Tech.
“A final thank you to all the people who helped me this year, as these awards would not have been achievable without the support that these people have provided me with all year.”
He thanked Stralia Race Tech for providing his championship winning machine, A & J Racing for renewing his worn tyres, PJR Shaw Farms for their support throughout the 2015 season, and Fuchs Silkolene.
Aaron also expressed gratitude to his father, mother, Max, Tom Nixon, John Stones, Craig Harriman, Helen Pask and many many more.
Aaron will be putting the new Yamaha R6 through its paces throughout the winter months in preparation for his new venture with Thundersport GB. His first race will take place at Brands Hatch over the weekend of March 5/6 next year.
