Up and coming young Horncastle motorcycle ace Aaron Silvester has completed his first year in motorcycle road racing at Thruxton in Hampshire on top, winning the eight round Newcomers championship.
The 17-year-old also finished a very strong fourth in the Minitwins Championship (a series for 650 twin cylinder race motorcycles).
Series commentator Russ Gardner said: “Aaron took all bar one of the Newcomer race wins to dominate his opposition” adding “an exciting prospect for the future.”
Aaron said: “It has been a dream start to road racing and although it has been a steep learning curve at times, I have been lucky in having the support of Steve Dolan at Stralia Race Tech who let me learn at my pace and provided an excellent machine.
“My parents and family have all been involved giving me both moral and financial support which all helps me get stronger, and we are now working hard contacting companies who want to be part of the teams success, to gain the financial support to move onwards and upwards next year.”
Aaron is used to race success in his working life too, as he is now employed on an engineering apprenticeship by local firm AW Tracksport, which prepares race cars for the BMW Compact Cup series and have prepared national championship winning cars for the last seven years.
Aaron added: “The meticulous preparation and driver support that we provide at work is also helping me understand what is needed to make the difference, and be a winner.”
