Bardney Martial Arts School’s elite fight team struck gold in the International Sport Kickboxing Association (ISKA) British Championships.

The event took place in North Solihull, Birmingham, and the competition was fierce with the best fight squads in the UK in action.

Fighters had to battle it out against 10 or more rivals in their respective weight divisions to win their titles.

The format meant that in order to challenge for a title, fighters have to win every fight as a loss meant instant elimination.

The Bardney squad returned with an impressive collection of gold, silver and bronze medals.

Senior Instructor Joe Cheetham said: “I am very proud of the team. They are all local people from Horncastle’s surrounding villages and represented the area with great etiquette and fierce spirit.

“After a hard training programme, I expected nothing less and this shows in the silverware they brought home.”

Thanks to their podium finishes, all of the team qualified to fight in the ISKA national team at the World Championships in Portugal next year.
