Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School’s newly-formed equestrian team competed in their first Championship Competition earlier this month at Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire.

In order to reach the Championship the teams had to compete at county and regional level and the team were previously crowned County Champions.

At the championship they were up against county champions from all over the country and over 30 teams.

The Horncastle team came second in the 70cm class and fourth in the 80cm class. The 90 cm team also came 15th in a very strong experienced class.

Taking part were Isabelle Curtis, Ava Vernon, Rosie Finney, Holly Newton, Lucy Curtis, Tamsin Roark, Harry Elliott and Ella Marshall.

The team were thrilled with their results and look forward to their next event in June.
