Horncastle’s Mens Hockey 2nd team will win the league title if they win this weekend after putting five past Long Sutton on Saturday.

Town overcame a poor start and found themselves 1-0 down after 10 minutes after an error from the goalkeeper, but they quickly put this behind them and Dick Bee equalised 10 minutes later

George Dann linked up with Bee and Rob Scott and Bee found the corner of the goal with his strike.

Sutton’s ‘keeper was tested a number of times and Horncastle took a 2-1 lead into half time through Dann after winning a free hit.

In the second half Horncastle continued to convert their set pieces and Scott got his name on the score sheet from a short corner.

Horncastle’s fourth goal came through a deflection from a cross and Bee grabbed a second goal after much debate between the umpires.
