Woodhall Spa Golf Club’s Junior section recorded a thrilling 7-6 win against Luffenham Heath in an annual challenge match.
Played over 36 holes on Sunday and Monday, Woodhall won the foursomes 3-1 and were pipped 5-4 in the singles.
However, that was still enough to give them an overall win in the match with two of the stars being James Kimber and Josh Soons.
Both players were involved in the final two singles and James (34 handicap) won two against his opponent Will Brown (15 handicap).
Not to be outdone, while 12-year-old Josh (38 handicap) - the youngest member of the Woodhall team - triumphed by the same margin against Harry Bentley (22 handicap) to clinch the win for a very inexperienced Woodhall side.
The team stayed at the Garden House Hotel and Luffenham Heath proved to be excellent hosts.
