Woodhall Spa professional Nathan Kimsey teed off yesterday (Tuesday) in his latest German PGA Tour event in Morocco.

Kimsey is one of several English-based players on the Madaef Open at the El Jadidia Royal Golf Club.

The event has a prize fund of 30,000 Euros and although the money would be a handy bonus, Kimsey is more interested in gaining valuable practice ahead of the start of his Challenge Tour season.

To date, Kimsey has played in five German Tour events and is currently the second best placed English player in the Order of Merit.

He’s in 22nd place after earning just over 3,000 Euros with a couple of top 20 finishes boosting his position.

Kimsey is planning to stay on in Morocco to play in the Lixus Open at Larache Golf Club from April 14-16.

According to sources, the rookie pro’ has been striking the ball well in recent weeks but is still keen to improve his all-round game.

Kimsey turned professional at the end of last year after a glittering amateur career which saw him play in the Walker Cup and force his way into the World’s Top 20.

He missed out on qualifying for the European PGA Tour but has secured seven slots in the highly competitive Challenge Tour.
