Woodhall Spa professional Holly Clyburn has battled into a top 30 position after the opening two rounds of the Woman’s Australian Open at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club.
Clyburn carded scores of 73 and 75 for a two-over-par total of 148 which left her in a tie for 26th place.
In her second round yesterday, she dropped shots at the fourth and fifth holes but bounced back with a birdie at the difficult seventh.
Two more shots disappeared at the 12th and 15th but Clyburn showed tremendous determination in testing conditions to grab a birdie at the long par five 17th.
The tournament leader is Ha-Ha Jang on 140 (71, 69) while England’s top ranked player is Charley Hill who is in fourth place on 142.
There are still two rounds to play.
