Velo One Cycling Team began their road racing and time trial season at the weekend.

The new amateur set-up has riders from all round Lincolnshire, including Horncastle’s Tim Kingswood and David Anderson, and Paul Hutchinson from Woodhall Spa.

In action at round one of the Milton Keynes Bowl Spring Circuit Series were team-mates Adam Ellis, from Spalding, and Madeline Verdegaal, from Wrangle.

Both rode well, with Madeline finishing 10th in the women’s E/1/2/3/4 category race and Adam 11th in the men’s 3/4 category event.

Meanwhile, Nick Millward started his time trial season in great form at his home town club Sleaford Wheelers’ Early Hilly event. Nick completed the 14.4-mile course in 42min 14sec for a creditable sixth place.
