A new Lincolnshire-based cycling race team launched at the end of last year is aiming to compete at all levels.

Based in Boston, but with 20 riders from around the county including Horncastle and Sleaford, Velo-One Cycling Team will compete across multi-cycling disciplines on the local, national and possibly world stages.

The team was founded on the principles of success and fun, team work, encouraging talent, and as an official supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to increase the awareness of Type 1 Diabetes through sport.

The amateur race team will compete in road racing, time trialing, cyclo-cross, mountain bike racing and on the velodrome..

Although primarily a race team, Velo-One will also look to organise events from rides to evening entertainment through their social arm – Le Gruppetto – with the aim of raising funds for JDRF.
