Woodhall Spa Croquet Club hosted their last competition of the season at Jubilee Park last Saturday. Invitation Day was well supported with 20 players taking part from clubs in North Hykeham, Gainsborough, Branston and Woodhall Spa.

The format of the competition was doubles play, with each pair playing six games, the best of 13 hoops with no time limit.

Everyone enjoyed the day, and although the weather was dry it was very cold, for what can be a slow game.

The winners of the day were once again Mike and Richard Bilton, the father and son duo from Gainsborough, who have won most of Woodhall Spa’s silverware this year. Runners-up were Tony and Val Fisher, also from Gainsborough, and third was Barrie Darling (Woodhall Spa) with his partner Carol Reding from North Hykeham.

An enjoyable day was had by all before everyone went home to warm up.
