BOWLS: Busy season set for Horncastle Indoor Bowls Club

As the outdoor bowls season comes to a close Horncastle’s Indoor Club is ready for the start of a busy season which sees the celebration of its 25th anniversary.

Before Leagues start on September 8, the club will be open from 6pm each evening from today, Wednesday September 3 for practise sessions. Along with its anniversary celebrations, the club will host two charity events, the first on October 19 in aid of the Lincolnshire Coop’s Charity of the year – the Alzheimer’s Society. There are still places available for teams of three bowlers to play in this gala – entry

fee £18 – entry forms are obtainable from the club.

The second charity gala will be held in February in aid of local Cancer support.

In addition to a full season of club and county league games the club also looks forward to hosting the County Under 18 Singles, the Ladies County Singles – 8s and 4s - and the Men’s County Semi-finals.

Always on the lookout for new talent and keen to encourage everyone to try bowls, the club will be holding two open days on Sunday October 5 and Sunday November 23 for all comers to try their hand at the sport.
