Strong start for Hornastle Belles squads
HORNCASTLE Belles U16s have continued their impressive start in Division 3 of the Lincoln Senior League with a comprehensive 26–6 victory over LED Club. Player of the match was Jasmine Fotherby (GA).
However, luck was not with their older counterparts as Belles U19s unbeaten run in Division 2 came to an end with a 12–18 defeat to Washingborough Connections. Player of the match was Connie Foster (GD).
Belles untried U12 team played their first match in the Lincolnshire Junior League with such enthusiasm and commitment that they came away with a well-deserved 10–0 win over a very lively Gainsborough.
Dominant defending from Georgia Carter (GD) and assertive attacking play from Katie Porter (GA) were the highlights of this new Belles side proving themselves to be too hot to handle. Player of the match was Emma Haslam (C/WA).
On their second expedition to Nottingham to play in the Two Counties League, Belles U13s notched up a comfortable 36–5 victory over Stapleford Stars.
Belles’ offensive started a little slowly in the first quarter, with the quarter time score being only 7–2 in their favour.
Play became sharper in the second quarter and by halftime Belles had pulled away to an unassailable 21–4 lead. Player of the match was Lauren Lee (WA).
