Belles are proving tough to beat after triple triumph

Horncastle Belles under-19s have continued their impressive run of form in Division 2 of the Lincoln Netball League with three wins.

The first was a hard fought 22-21 victory over Lincoln Sirens (Player of the Match – Connie Foster) and a more comfortable win saw a 28-15 success over Freeston Diamonds (PotM – Amber Zayee).

Playing in their first match of the season in the Lincolnshire U-19 League, the girls notched up an impressive 41-15 win against Lincoln City (PotM - Connie Foster).

Their younger counterparts, the Under 16s, came away with a win and a loss in their Division Three matches of the Lincoln Netball League.

After a 21-18 victory over Pheonix Ladies (PotM - Alice War), they were brought down to earth with a 15-45 defeat against the Gainsborough Panthers (PotM - Lucy Slade).

In the Lincolnshire Junior Netball League, the Under 16s recorded a 29-19 win over Sleaford Barge Jets (PotM – Eleanor Lamb) and Belles U-14 Red scored a convincing 21-10 victory over Boston Thunder, made even more satisfying as it was their first win over the Boston side.

Although the U-12s lost 9-12 to a strong Fenland side, the Belles were more than happy with their performance and a hard-earned point (PotM - Harriet Oliver).

The U-12s are on the lookout for a goal shooter and defender to help strengthen their current team.

Anyone interested should email horncastlebelles@hotmail.com or contact Sue Cook on 01526 345090.

Congratulations go to the following U-19 players on gaining C Award umpire status; Connie Foster, Megan McQuade and Erin Read.

Connie Foster, Amy Hartley, Megan McQuade and Katie Morton must also be congratulated after passing their assessment to become UKCC Level 1 netball coaches.
