Kimsey in top 100 amateur rankings
WOODHALL Spa golfer Nathan Kimsey is celebrating another dazzling double.
The 19-year-old has officially been named in the Great Britain and Ireland team for their St Andrews Trophy clash against Europe later this week.
Just hours later, Kimsey was included in the top 100 of the world amateur rankings for the first time in his career.
Kimsey was featured in the list at 72 - astonishing progress as he was outside the top 1,400 just two years ago.
l Woodhall’s ladies section played the Christabelle Cup on the Hotchkin Course with Wendy Craven taking first place with a nett 75 ahead of Jacqueline Ward on a countback. Denise Parker was third.
A stableford competition played on the same day was won by Dianne Parker with 28 point with Marion Ashton (27) second and Julia Bowser (24) third.
Annie Oliver won the Weigall Cup on +1 with Jean Parkinson (-1) second and Sue Fletcher (-2) third.
A EWGA medal competition, staged on the Bracken Course, saw Jane Burtt (nett 69) triumph ahead of Jane Shirley (72) and Susan Bevan (72).
