Horncastle Town Football Club is celebrating after securing funding of £400,000 for a new clubhouse.
Several organisations had already pledged to back the project, including Horncastle Town Council and the local district councillors.
The club itself has also launched a number of fund raising projects - including a sponsored bike ride from Paris to The Wong.
Conditional partnership funding has also been approved by Sport England and WREN, with the whole package going before the largest potential funder, The Football Foundation, for a final make or break decision.
The Foundation has agreed to back the project and club chairman Colin Low confirmed the full £400,000 was now in place.
Planning permission has already been secured and work is expected to start at the beginning of January with the new facility ready for the 1014-15 season.
Mr Low said he would like to thank everyone who had helped the bid and added: “I still can’t quite believe that we have been successful.
“It is great testament to the hard work from all involved. The comments of support and
interest from people in the town have been heartening.
“I am looking forward to the new building taking shape and to the club and town getting
a new facility which is so badly needed.
“With the new facility, it can only strengthen the support and growth of the club into future years.”
