Horncastle Town is supporting a bid to start girls teams for 11 to 18-year-olds

On Tuesday April 15 there will be a girls football training session held at The Wong in Horncastle.

This evening is a bid to find out the demand for the sport in the area.

The session will take place between 6.30pm and 7.30pm and is available to girls in the Horncastle, Louth, Skegness, Coningsby and Spilsby areas.

Patrick Taylor, who is organising the session, said: “We’re really keen to get as many down to train as possible.

“My daughter has to train over in Lincoln or Grimsby if she wants to play, so we want to see what the demand is like for it here.

“Horncastle Town FC have agreed to offer their facilities to us for a few weeks if this is successful.

“If we can get enough girls to come to training we will look at putting some teams together for next season.”
