Mareham hit 19 against Boston

After the excitement of the summer festivities, with the Olympics and European Football Championships,
the grass-roots football
season got underway once again.

Many teams opted for a day off over the bank holiday weekend, but Mareham United will be glad they chose to lace up their boots as they put 19 goals past Boston United Community.

John Ellis was the star of the day with seven goals and Darren Vinters also hit a hat-trick.

Jimmy Harris, Micky Johnson and Ashley webb each scored two goals apiece, and Ryan Benson, Andrew Fenn and Ross Trestrail completed the rout.

Boston didn’t let their heads drop and scored a consolation goal through Ashley Davis.

Next week Mareham travel to Freiston in the Boston Taylors Service Garages league.

Coningsby host Wyberton reserves, and Billinghay travel to Spalding.
