Horncastle based AFC Harpars proved they’ve got ‘six appeal’ as they swept to the top of Division Three in the Sills and Betteridge Sunday League.
Harpars hammered rivals Heighington 6-3 at Horncastle Playing Fields to step up their promotion challenge.
Heighington will definitely be glad to see the back of Harpars who won an earlier league meeting this season 8-0.
Harpars now have 21 points - the same as FVA Jerusalem Reserves - but top the table on goal difference.
Previous leaders Trent Valley have 19 points from seven games and it should be a thrilling battle for the title in the second half of the campaign.
Harpars will be looking to tighten their grip on top spot when they visit Crows Athletic next Sunday.
