Horncastle Town will be without goalkeeper Will Wood for their Supplementary Cup quarter final clash against Nettleham at The Wong tomorrow (Saturday) 2.30pm.
Wood has been a consistent performer since establishing himself as the club’s first choice number one in recent weeks.
However, he is unavailable tomorrow, opening the door for the vastly experienced Keith Jones to make a return to first team action.
Town are also hoping midfielder Ollie Johnson should be fit after recent ankle trouble while defender Andrew Shinn is expected to return after illness.
Boss Paul Johnson must also decide whether to hand a starting place to striker Danny Bent who has completed a one-match ban.
Town are desperate for a game after last Saturday’s league clash at Grimsby Borough reserves was called off because their opponents had withdrawn from the competition.
They will start as favourites as Nettleham are struggling in the league and were beaten 2-0 at The Wong earlier in the campaign.
Town’s reserves don’t have a fixture this weekend but have confirmed they will launch their defence of the Challenge Cup at home to RMI Imp next Saturday (ko: 1.30pm).
Town beat RMI in the same competition last season and went on to lift the trophy after thrashing Ivy Tavern 5-0 in the final at Lincoln United’s ground.
