Pointon were found wanting once more when they travelled to Coningsby in the Boston League Premier Division on Saturday.

Goals from Carl Wilson, in the first half and Jack O’Brien, in the second period put Coningsby in control and, although Pointon scored a consolation goal late on, the home side held onto three valuable points following their 2-1 home win.

In Division One, Sutterton soldiered on and they put up a spirited display at Woodhall Spa United before going down 7-1.

Woodhall had seven different scorers in Ryan Richardson, Richard Hall, Tom Richardson, Bradley Chambers, Andy Money, Alex Abraham and Tim Williamson.

A Jack Cridland goal wasn’t enough to help a stricken Fishtoft Reserves camp to any sort of reward following their 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Coningsby Reserves.

Fishtoft were desperately trying to gather enough players together for their game after a stag weekend robbed them of several key players. Their efforts did get the game played and they will be looking forward to having a full squad for their next league game.

Mareham United went down 8-2 at home to Swineshead ‘A’. Tony Webb and Lukas Payne grabbed their consolation goals.
