Meanwhile, the league now has new leaders. Despite suffering their third league defeat of the season when they visited Brigg at the weekend, Skegness Town have dislodged Sleaford Town’s second string from the top of the pile, by virtue of a league management committee decision.

The Lilywhites were awarded the three points after lowly Ruston Sports defaulted on their fixture, but their defeat at Brigg has thrown open the title race, with the top four now all in the frame.

Third-placed Wyberton were left kicking their heels at the weekend when opponents CGB Humbertherm from Fulstow were unable to raise a team to make the journey south of Boston. Market Rasen Town won the bottom-of-the-table clash at Rustons.

In the Supplementary Cup, Cleethorpes Town Development Squad earned a place in the final against Lincoln Railway AFC, when they beat holders Hykeham Town by the odd goal in five.

In midweek, Hykeham Town were held to a league draw by the Railmen.
